We all face difficult times in our lives. In Job 14:1, it says, man that is born of a woman is of a few days, and full of trouble. (KJV)
A Tough Time Spiritually
It wasn’t long ago when I faced many battles, one right after the other, and several simultaneously. Physically, spiritually, and emotionally I was put to the test. My weary soul craved peace and rest from all the battles I was enduring. The enemy tried to take advantage of this opportunity and speak words of lies during this very challenging, weak, and vulnerable moment. “Living for the Lord is too hard; just give up.” I stopped still in my tracks, and it dawned on me what was happening. The enemy was trying to claim me as his own. He was taking advantage of the situation and twisting it, so it seemed believable that it would be much easier to quit living for Jesus. Not a chance with this one. I knew what the enemy was up to.
Living For the Lord Is Worth It
In my many years of experience of living for the Lord, life has been a much better way of life. I’ve had more direction, guidance, purpose, joy, and love. I would reword the lie from the enemy with truth and say, “Living without the Lord is too difficult.” I’ve been there, too, and I can tell you it’s not a fun place to be. Daily, needing guidance, being lost and without a savior is a miserable existence.
Be Aware
Please be aware of the enemy’s tactics to keep you from living for the Lord. 1 Peter 5:8 says, Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary, the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. His job is to get our souls, and he doesn’t stop when we become Christians. He’s always on the prowl like a roaring lion. During trying times, we can look to our savior and seek refuge, comfort, and redemption. Psalms 86:7 says, In the day of my trouble I will call upon thee: for thou wilt answer me. God has all the answers for you. Seek Him, and you will find the sweet rest your soul is craving. I have found my rest and peace in following Him, and He is our help during troubling times.
